Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 29th January 2021 I will be taking on the Arc of Attrition running race. It is a 100 mile race on the Cornish Coast starting at Coverack on the Lizard and finishing Porth Towan on the North Coast. Its a continuous running race battling all 100 miles in one go and running through the night making it the toughest event in the South West you can take on. While doing this event I would like to raise some money because of two very brave Cornish boys; my nephew Tommy Hopes and my friends' son Russel Wade. Both of these little boys have received incredible care at Bristol Children's Hospital and been supported, along with their families, by the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal. Tommy was airlifted to Bristol Children's Hospital after sustaining injuries following a tragic car accident that turned my whole family's world upside down, the staff and support helped Tommy and us at the worst time of our lives and put Tommy on the path to recovery. Russel spent much of his short life at the hospital after being diagnosed with SMA Type 1, the staff became like family and I know his parents; Dan and Lerryn, cannot thank them enough for all they did. Both of these boys are little fighters and I hope I can find some of the courage they have shown to get me through the miles. I know Tommy will be waiting at the finish line to give me a high five and in the dark of the night when it will probably be hardest Russel's star, along with my nephew Alfie's will be shining bright guiding me through. I'm really hoping in taking on this challenge I can make these boys proud and raise some much needed funds for an incredible charity. Cheers, Lloyd.
