Story
My name is Lloyd, I am 34, and I owe a great deal to Dr Silverston one of the original Magpas doctors. When I was a baby, my Mum thought she heard a sound coming from my room and she rushed upstairs to see what it was. She couldn't have heard anything because I was laying on the floor, blue, not breathing. Dr Silverston arrived in no time and saved my life. Every experience I've ever had I owe in no small part to Dr Silverston and Magpas.
It has been my dream from an early age to swim the English Channel and to raise money for Magpas. I'm now 34 and thought it's now time I fulfilled my dream. My channel crossing attempt will be during July 1st to the 10th 2010.
At present Magpas receives no formal government funding and survives on the generosity of individuals and organisations.
