Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Stuart Campbell and i've been a member of Flourish House for about a year now, in that time the Charity has provided routine and Recovery oriented activity as part of the work ordered day. it has given me a purpose in life and i would like more people to be part of it, it is the only International Clubhouse in Scotland and i was hoping they could reach out and expand to more people like me who are trying to recover from Poor Mental Health.
I suffered with Paranoid Schizophrenia for 14 years and due to a medication change in 2011 i started to recover, right now i have been re-diagnosed to a lesser personality disorder but i regard myself as stable and high functioning. I passed my driving test 2yrs ago which made it possible to travel more, i'm also now in the process of starting a business working with animals.
My Inspiration for this Fundraiser was from a friend (who also has poor mental health) we were camping and he encouraged me into the water off the beach at pfinifort in Mull, we both took the plunge and enjoyed a swim as the sun came out, I enjoyed it so much that i thought of doing it for charity so i have been saving to pay for a wetsuit and accessories such as a safety Buoy and i am waiting on my wetsuit coming and in the mean time i will be swimming at my local pool.
Funding Had been cut across the uk in recent years and we lost a lot of groups and clubhouses for people suffering with mental health problems which meant they had nowhere to go in-order to improve their mental health, Flourish house provides a safe a secure environment for members to improve their wellbeing by volunteering to take part in the work ordered day, this is a vital service and one which needs to grow and flourish even more, donations will go towards projects that will help flourish house flourish, expand even more..
