Story

Logan, Aged 6: “My name is Logan and I am six and three quarters years old and I want to do the 3 Peaks because I want to get fit and help injured soldiers that get hurt. And I want to break the record so I can be the youngest seven year old to do it.

I want to make lots of money so I can help the injured soldiers who get hurt in the army. I hope family and friends will give me lots of money to help fix the broken soldiers.

I want to help the soldiers because I want to be helpful and be in the Army and play rugby for Saracens when I am older. I will be fit when I am in the army after I do the three peaks.

I want to raise as much money as I can, I would say about 10,000.99 that would be great.””

After pestering my wife and I to go for a run, Logan (6) decided that he would like to try and raise money somehow for injured troops following a discussion on charity.

Once we got home from our run, we had a look into what type of stuff he could do and one way or another the three peaks came into our radar. Initially, he wanted to be the youngest person to complete the three peaks but it turned out that there was already a young boy of seven who completed it just within the allotted time. Logan is adamant that he can beat that time and is keen to give it a good go.

This has come to be a solid talking point for the last few weeks in our house and with some planning and training we have decided to go for it. Luckily for us Logan has built up a reputation with people at work and the PTIs where I work are getting behind him and helping with training by looking into different training methods for younger children. I must stress that Logan will not be made to do anything he doesn’t want to do, but we know his energy will push us at times and it may well be him that is making us do things we don’t want to do.

Any support to Logan would be massively appreciated. For those who know Logan will know that he’s kind, polite, caring and very determined young man.

It would also be great to have some of you come along on some training walks and even one or all of the summits on the peaks with him to give him the support we all may need.
