Thames Swim Marathon for Frank Water

2017 Thames Marathon · 6 August 2017 ·
A few years ago I could barely swim 2 lengths of the lido without swallowing all the water. Thanks to lessons from Lido Mike and support from great swimming buddies like Anna and the Windrush family I'm now a bit of an open water lover. I signed up to swim this distance as it is the longest I will ever have swum and I wanted to use it to support Frank water who run sustainable water improvement projects in India. My Grandpa used to build water infrastructure in Nigeria and I think the way Frank water go about their work is something he would approve of. When I swim long distances my mind drifts to people like my Grandpa and my mum who loved all things water related. I paid for the event myself so anything you donate goes straight to Frank water.
Please donate what you can. A small donation of £2.50 could pay for the training of tribal people on plumbing and hand pump operations so they can maintain and repair their water systems in the future.
Just £30 could empower remote tribal people and their families in
Chhattisgarh with a water testing kit that could show whether their
drinking water is safe to drink. £48 could buy a family a rainwater collection kit and save them from the effects of flurosis which occurs
when local supplies are too high in fluoride.
