On the 23rd May 2015, I will be setting off on a grand old adventure. I'm going with adventure over challenge as it makes me feel better about the whole thing. Also, that's exactly how Sue would have described it - life was one big adventure for her.

So, what does this adventure entail you ask? Well, I will be walking 100km (approx 60miles) continuously from London to Brighton. It should take me around 25/26 hours and I know it's not going to be easy but with the support of my friends and family, and the memory of my fabulous family friend Sue shining down, I know I can do it. Hopefully I'll raise lots of money in the process. 

Sue Sheppard was the life and soul of every party. The memories of dancing around my parent's living room with a glass of fizz in our hands will stay with me forever. In February 2014, completley out of the blue, Sue was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - Cholangiocacinoma (bile duct cancer) - less than 9 weeks later we had lost her. 

It was a huge shock for her lovely family, her many, many friends and the community of the little town where we lived. She has left one massive, gaping, sparkly hole in our lives and whilst we will never be able to fill it, we can sure as hell do all we can to make sure money is raised for the charity - AMMF (www.ammf.org.uk) - that is dedicated to research behind this awful disease. 

Please do take a moment to have a read of the work AMMF is doing to ensure that more families, friends and loved ones can avoid the pain that anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Sue has been through this year.
