It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

This is one of the most common forms of cancer, yet it has pretty much the lowest survival rate. That’s not ok. It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. It just goes undetected until it’s untreatable. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.

When a friend lost their Dad recently, this really struck a chord with me. He was the same age as my Dad and that’s just way too young! It took my cousin too and that’s two too many people, let alone the 9,000 others I don’t know who die from this cancer every year.

For me personally, being offered this place to run the marathon for Pancreatic Cancer UK will give me a positive focus through the training and fundraising I’ll need to do this summer - a really positive personal challenge and I can’t wait to get started!! Life’s been so tough for so many this past couple of years and there’s been huge changes in my life recently. This challenge will give me another purpose and a sense of self while I’m adjusting.

Soppy stuff over… thanks in advance for any help you can give me in getting to my huge £2,500 minimum target!
