1.We are a group of six young people from around Harrow,hillingdon. We come from different ethnicities, religions and backgrounds but our common goal is to make a positive impact in Harrow and in the wider community.

2.We have been accepted to go on a 5 week expedition to India with Raleigh International. This is a well established charity organisation that takes volunteers from the UK to participate in community and environmental projects around the world.

3.This will mean us getting stuck in with hard manual work on behalf of local communities; building sustainable sanitary facilities, and wildlife preserves to protect the locals as well as the animals.

4.This expedition to India will be a life changing experience for us and we want to share it with other young people. We will be making a DVD of our experiences to take around youth groups in the Harrow/hillingdon area so we can inspire other young people to see themselves as part of a wider community.

5.We need to raise £6000 to cover all equipment, vaccinations, airfares, food and accommodation for all six of us. We have been raising money through various sponsored events and on the 4th July we are going on a sponsored 25 mile hike right across London from Hillingdon to the Houses of Parliament and on to Greenwich!
