Hi Everyone

Thank you for taking the time to read my page.  I’ve set myself the biggest challenge of my life and that’s to trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro on the 19th September 2019.  I know a lot of you will think I’m crazy but I know with the right training and moral support I can get there.  

Strathcarron is not somewhere I hope anyone ever needs to use but if you do then I can safely say you’re in the best place.  I recently lost my wonderful father in law in strathcarron and it was the hardest time our family has been through.  What made it bearable was the wonderful staff and volunteers that work to make sure your loved ones are looked after so well and always with a warm smile.  They have to raise over £12,900 a day just to keep this wonderful place open.  Since I lost my father in law, I’ve wanted to help strathcarron in any way I can and this trek will help me get back in shape, meet fantastic people and raise lots of money for my favourite cause (I don’t set myself small goals lol).  I know my father in law would think I’m crazy but would also be right behind me.  He always said that you can do anything you set your mind too, as long as you put in the hard work first.  We miss Mark so much, he was such a wonderful, caring person that always put others before himself.  Mark did lots of running in his life and did plenty of Marathon's for charity.  I know if he was still here, he would be coming with me.
