Monty is the flying mascot of the Military Stabilization Support Group. He is aiming to complete at least 100 flying sorties all over the UK during 2011 and will record them in his own personal Pilots Flying Log Book. His mentor is our Unit Welfare Officer who has been teaching him to fly. She will be taking him on sorties herself in her Pegasus XL-Q Flexwing Microlight and asking others within private and military aviation to do the same.
Monty is keen to raise as much money as possible for The Royal British Legion. They do such sterling work for serving and ex members of the forces and for their families and deserve all the help they can get. This year RBL will be 90 years old and going from strength to strength.
Please help out by donating and following the exploits of Monty as the year progresses.
At year end the names of al those who have donated will be put into the hat and Commander MSSG will draw a lucky winner. Monty together with his Personal Flying Log Book and a letter of authenticity will then go on to retirement or further adventures with the winner.
Thank you for taking the time to visit.

News:
On Sat 23 Mar Monty spent almost two hours whizzing round the circuit at Old Sarum with Lorraine doing numerous touch and go landings plus several low level passes along the runway. He then went off to Popham in the company of a member of Shadow Aviation Club and flew the plane himself on the way! Photos of that to follow.
During 21-25 Mar he was flying with Shadow Aviation based at Old Sarum who took him on a number of local sorties.
On weekend 19-20 Mar he was at the Dunsfold Fly In with Sandra, Chair of Hampshire Microlight Flying Club. Keep visiting - new photos going online soon!
Monty flew his first Sortie on Sun 13 March flying out to Redlands Airstrip with Simon.
