Hi Guys I am climbing Kilimanjaro!!!

Can you have a read and why and how and who and WHY!!?? Kilimanjaro? Madness....MADNESS!

Kilimanjaro

 I MUST be mad! Kilimanjaro!?

Kilimanjaro, is a dormant volcanic mountain in Kilimanjaro National Park, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania.

It is the highest mountain in Tanzania, the highest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres or 19,341 feet above sea level (the Uhuru Peak/Kibo Peak).

I AM mad...but also inspired by Sarah Groves.

Sarah was an extraordinary person who unfortunately passed away this year, she has left behind a massive hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Last year Sarah Climbed Kilimanjaro and raised over £3000 for charity! In August 2014 I am aiming to train and climb Kilimanjaro with Sarah’s close friends and Family.

A foundation has been established in Guernsey in Sarahs Memory, her inspirations in life came from Children, art, fitness and adventure and the foundation has been set up in Guernsey to support these 4 things

It has full Trust status and is administered by the Guernsey Community Foundation www.foundation.gg

So Where will the money go.......

Funds allocated to children will provide facilities, experiences and opportunities to young persons under the age of 16 that would otherwise be out of their reach financially or from an organisational perspective.  In many cases participants will come from deprived backgrounds both locally and overseas.

Funds allocated to art will provide educational experiences, opportunities and equipment to young persons under the age of 21 that would otherwise be out of their reach financially or organisationally. 20% of funds available within this category go towards an art bursary at Sarah’s school in Ascot where she spent 7 very happy years and where they still have very fond memories of her. Income will be generated by adventure and fitness (for example, people running marathons or going on expeditions).

Any donations are warmly welcomed, and thank you so much for your kindness and support!

I will be paying a part of the travel and accommodation costs, and some of the money I fundraise will go towards the rest, but over 50% of money raised is purely for the Fund, which means that as a group we hope to raise, after all expenses, over £50,000!!! Which will be incredible for the Fund!

Thank you so so much for taking the time to read this and visit my page.  Sarah’s philosophy on life has taught and reminded me to stop and think for a moment about what you could do to make a change, I hope I can make and be a small change in the world she so dearly wished to see.

 Thanks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
