Story
Why I've chosen to run for Anthony Nolan Charity:
My best friends dad and close family friend Kurt Hobbs, was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, but in June 2016 Kurt was given an un-related Bone Marrow Transplant. This amazing charity not only saved Kurt's life but also saved people I love from having to go through the pain of loosing a father, husband and inspiring friend.
What I'm doing & who with:
I will be running the Great North Run on September 9th with Kurt and Chloe and a group of friends; and also the Draycote 20 Mile Course on September 23rd with my friend Carl Peach to both raise awareness of the work Anthony Nolan carries out and more importantly funds in the hope that more people with blood cancer are given a second chance.
How I'm going to achieve the distances:
Over the past 3 years I have been on a Journey to improve my own fitness levels so I thought I should put my efforts to good use. Although I consider myself active I am only a beginner at running, I have signed up to many RunBritain events leading up to these two fantastic opportunities including the Silverstone 10K in May and the Market Harborough Half Marathon in June.
