Story
My beautiful, kind and lovely mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's more than 10 years ago, Her decline was slow to begin with and then the disease took hold. She can no longer talk, walk , eat fully and hasn't recognised us for years. It is completely heartbreaking and so painful for my brothers and I, as well as the rest of the family and close friends. We feel completely and utterly helpless and I just hope she isn't in too much pain or frightened.
The Alzheimer's society is a huge support , there is currently no cure, but there are amazing research projects to understand causes and work towards finding a cure.
I'm walking this journey with my lovely friend Di Roper, who very sadly lost her mum to Alzheimer's a few years ago. This is especially brave of Diana , as she knows how much I can talk....so I'm not too sure if her pain will be greater in her ears or her feet!! She has already recommended we listen to pod casts on the way...... I have duly noted this advice and will do my best to give her some space !!!!!!
