Great North Run 2015 · 13 September 2015 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

It's almost 18months since I lost my mam to cancer now. I'm intending to run the Great North Run for as long as my legs will let me in years to come for her.

When you lose a mother, part of your heart & soul dies with them. It's one of those experiences that you never understand fully until it happens to you.  Its especially hard when your daughter was only born 5 months previously.  It's something that you never get over & you try to live with it as best you can.  The person I have become isn't the person I want to be. I don't want to be so down & so I look to do something positive to stop other people hurting. My mothers words still echo in my head......"I don't want you to be sad."

This is the reason I aim to be positive & think of ways that I can raise money for Cancer Research in the hope that we can keep our mothers for longer in the future. That our fathers, brothers, sisters & children can be with us for for a lot longer. That everyone who gets cancer can one day say...."I beat cancer!"

I want to do as much as I can so NO ONE suffers in years to come.  So that in my own way, with your help I can help raise funds for Cancer Research.
