London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·

Every working day in the UK two construction workers take their own life. We are the only charity providing emotional, physical and financial support to the construction community through our 24/7 Helpline.

Story

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is dedicated to the emotional, physical & financial wellbeing of construction workers & their families. They receive no public funding so rely on the industry to 'support their own'. Every penny raised helps make a difference to a construction worker in need.

My sister told me about Lighthouse after she signed up to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon with them. Having ‘‘lost’’ chunks of my own life due to poor mental health over the past decade and re-finding myself in running and sports, it’s a pleasure to be able to raise much needed funds for a charity who focus on mental health in their industry.

Last August I ran my first half marathon in 10yrs - something I never thought I’d do again - with my beautiful sister, Lindy. It was a pivotal life moment for the both of us. The London Landmarks will be my 13th Half Marathon and I’m so grateful that it’ll be my second with my sister. Both of us running not only for our own mental health and happiness, but to raise funds for critical mental health care of others, and of course, in memory of our uncle Clive who took his life too young.

If you can help us to help Lighthouse, with even the smallest of donations, I’d be most grateful.

Best wishes

Louise
