Hi All

I work at the Barts Cancer Institute, a CRUK Barts Centre in London, where my lab is investigating molecular mechanisms leading to cancer. But we are not the only one. Indeed, many labs at the Barts Cancer Institute and other Institutes across UK are working on different areas of cancer research, and have been generously supported by the CRUK. We, as scientists, are all mission-driven that the cancer research we perform today have an impact on patients tomorrow. Unfortunately, Covid-19 put our research on hold. This led to many Institutes and labs in UK being shut down causing huge delay in cancer research. In order to continue with our experiments once we are back in the lab, please help CRUK continue supporting cancer research.

So, here I am challenging myself to run and help raise vital funds that would be needed after the lockdown has finished. My friends and colleagues know that I never run before, in fact I hate it. But the lockdown changed my mind and I have decided to start running on 27th March. It was difficult at the beginning and I felt a lot of pain in my legs. Now after almost a month I am very proud to say that I have been running almost every day, and I will continue to do so until the lockdown is over. I will need your support to keep my motivation high until this lockdown is finished.

I am not expecting to raise millions as Captain Tom Moore did, but I am hoping that with my running and your generous support we can give a little help to the cause of cancer research in these unprecedented times. 

To track my progress, I am going to update this website with my runs and pictures.
