We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect, but we need your help too. Join the 2022 TCS London Marathon and help us to ensure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

Story

On 2nd October 2022, I will be running the London Marathon for Mind.

I've been running regularly from a young age and with 2 half marathons, countless cross country races and a good few competitive 800m races (back in the day!) under my belt, I think it is finally time to tackle what will be the hardest race of my life! It's been a dream of mine to run the London Marathon and I'm excited for the challenge!

I am also so proud to be running for Mind.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year in the UK, meaning most of us will be affected by mental health problems, either personally or through the ones we love, at some point in our lives. Having been exposed to the NHS over the last few years as I trained as a doctor, it has been particularly eye opening to gain a perspective of the prevalence and impact of mental health problems in the UK.

With an ongoing mental health epidemic and an NHS that is constantly under pressure, charities like Mind are more important than ever for giving support to those affected by mental health. With accessible online information, helplines and campaigns for change, Mind is leading the way in making sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

Thank you for visiting my page and please consider leaving a donation to Mind, no matter how small it may be, to help support this important cause.

What do Mind do?

We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.

When you're experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. That's what we do. We empower people to understand their condition and the choices available to them through the following:

  • Our Infoline, which offers callers confidential help for the price of a local call.
  • Our Legal Line, which provides information on mental health related law to the public, service users, family members/carers, mental health professionals and mental health advocates.
  • Our award-winning information, certified by the PIF Tick.
Our local Minds provide help and support directly to those who need it most. There's a network of around 125 local Minds across England and Wales that offer specialised support and care based on the needs of the communities they support.

We believe everyone with a mental health problem should be able to access excellent care and services. We also believe you should be treated fairly, positively and with respect.

We campaign on a range of issues that could affect anybody with a mental health problem. This includes health services; legislation; protection of legal rights, and employment.

What your donations can do:

£20 could run our online peer support community Side By Side for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.

£40 could help our Infoline answer calls, providing someone with vital support and information about help available for them.

£50 could help us campaign for better mental health services from the Government, ensuring people get the support they need, as soon as they need it.

£100 could pay the cost of one of our Infoline or Legal Line advisors for a whole day.
