Lucy's Readathon

Lucy Coleman is raising money for Book Aid International

Readathon · 11 February 2021

At Book Aid International we share the power of books with millions of people globally. Every year we provide over 1 million brand new, carefully selected books to thousands of communities where people have very few opportunities to read, and work with our partners to support & establish libraries.

Story

Dear All,

I'm Lucy Coleman, aged 13 from Birmingham.  I have decided to do a Readathon to raise money for Book Aid International.  It is a charity which sends books all over the world to people, schools and libraries who don't have access to many books.  I love reading (and I have a big collection of books!) so I know the importance of them.  I really don't know what I'd do without books!  When I saw Book Aid's website, I knew they were the charity to raise money for.  Their work is extraordinary!

I am aiming to read 20 books over 4 months, starting on 12th February and ending on 12th June.  It costs just £2 for Book Aid to send a book.  Please support my effort in whatever multiple of £2 you choose.  I will appreciate all donations, as education by reading will help disadvantaged people escape poverty.

I will post a report every 2 weeks on how I'm getting on to keep you updated!  Thank you ever so much!

Lucy
