Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2016, we lost a huge part of our family that can never be replaced. David Perfect was a much loved Dad, Husband and Grandad to us all. After his strong fight with cancer, his mischievous and loving entertainment has been missed tremendously. He was always courageous and sneaky with what he got up to, which I'm glad has carried on through me. I dearly miss the times where we would dance in the living room till midnight and plan pranks together. The small moments I miss the most.

In 2021, we lost a ray of sunshine that held the family together. Jimmy Bedford was a much loved Dad, Husband and Grandad, who fought to the very end. Blood related or not, Jimmy treated us as one of his own, giving us another family in which I will always cherish. Jimmy was a caring father figure to us all and did the most to support family and friends regardless of the situation. His loving heart has left us all feeling empty and his laughs and jokes are truly missed.

My amazing Nanny Barbara survived breast cancer and is now strong and healthy, as well as close family relatives who have also battled with it throughout their family

Cancer is more common than ever. Young or old, it is the biggest killer to anyone. I'm dedicated to run the marathon as a way of grieving and remembering these two legends who were still so positive all the way to the end. Each day doesn't get easier, as not being able to share personal achievements with them both is heartbreaking. However, I like to believe that they are working their magic up there.

The donations aren't just for me running the marathon. But helping the institution of cancer research to continue and prevent the loss of lives. Any donations to remember loved ones and help the charity would be massively appreciated.

Thank you,

Love Lucy x
