In June, myself and a group of University of Gloucestershire students will be going to Malawi for 4/5 weeks to deliver workshops to the people of Malawi

The workshops will include:

Education:

• "This approach explores the rich potential of sports for teaching and learning in formal and informal educational settings. This in turn, requires an understanding of existing approaches used in schools and other contexts within Malawi."
  

Coaching:

• "Delivered through a 5 tiered system, involving class, practical and distance learning, the Sport Coaching workshops enable staff, students and local coaches to share coaching philosophies, experiences and knowledge in order to enhance the quality and development of sports coaching in Malawi."

Outreach:

• "This workshop is delivered to youth leaders and workers associated with various churches. A five tier model has been adopted for the Sport Outreach workshop which centres on the significance of sport as a starting point for deepening relationships with young people and the establishment of mentoring for leadership. As well as providing a biblical basis for Sports Mentoring, the workshops range from goal setting, to rapport building, to good and bad leadership models."

I will be working with a range of people including adults, parishes and communities to help educate the citizens of Malawi about sport/PE as well as wider issues (such as AIDS, HIV, gender inequality and the lack of education) within the community & country. 

Our aim, is to spend 15 years in Malawi. 5 years in the North, 5 in the centre and 5 in the South. We are currently in the central 5 years. After these 15 years Sport Malawi will become Sport 'Somewhere else' . Please help us with this journey.
