Lucy's Teaching Art in India

Volunteering in India · 10 May 2016
I’m ready to paint a rainbow in India and just need your help to make it happen.
On 26th January 2017 I’m going to be involved in a truly exciting educational creative project. With the help of UK charities Articulate and ICYE, I will be volunteering with Seb’s Project in India for 12 months. (All links below)
The most fantastic thing about this opportunity is that I will be organising and running art projects and workshops for the whole 12 months.
For those of you that don’t know me, I love my art and creativity. I want to pass on my excitement and creative energy to the children, giving them hope and experiences that could benefit them in their future, to be able to flourish and express themselves artistically.
I will be working with disadvantaged children, encouraging them to express themselves though art. They will have never experienced creativity as we do here. I hope to be able to expand their imaginations and really have fun!
I will be working with a variety of different schools over the year, including inner city schools around Vellore and isolated Tribal schools in the Jawadu Hills. I will be working on long and short projects/workshops.
As this is a voluntary position, I have to raise all funds to cover my training, flights, visa, food, accommodation and travel to and from work for the 12 months, as well as language lessons.
So with your support, even by donating £1 you know that my services in India will massively make a difference. And I will be documenting it all so you can follow my adventure as i go...
I will also be holding various fundraising events in the months leading towards my departure. So i'll be keeping you updated.
