Story
Ashgate Hospice is a one-in-a-million facility in which few lucky people spend their last days. The staff's efforts allow families to become one again, no longer separated by responsibilities such as medication and transport to medical facilities. They allowed me to spend the last 20 days with my father as a daughter and comforted us whilst adjusting to the phase which can only be ungracefully described as 'going down hill fast'. The nights my mother spent by his bedside were not an abnormal occurrence between families and their loved ones here. They made everything we felt we needed to do feel natural and expected. Including taking one of my fathers little cats to visit him. Please consider donating anything you can in this time of hardship to this wonderful charity. In return, I promise we'll jump out of a plane at 10K feet.
