Brooke, Action For Working Horses and Donkeys is the world’s largest working equine welfare organisation. We make both immediate and long-term changes to transform the health and welfare of hardworking horses, donkeys and mules to give them a life worth living.

Story

My name is Lucy Rayner, I am 7 years old.  I am taking part in #myhackathon as my pony has helped me when I was poorly.  I was born with a rare heart condition and have had to undergo two open heart operations and numerous procedures, most under general anaesthetic.  I will have to have further heart operations when I am older, as I will have to have my artificial valve replaced.

I have been riding since I was a baby, I got my first pony Teddy, a miniature shetland, when I was 22 months, a couple of years later I had Smartie as i had outgrown Teddy, and now I have Meric.

I love riding my pony, Meric, it helps keep me fit and healthy.  The favourite part of riding is hacking around the local lanes.  So I am going to try and raise at least £100 for The Brooke to help ponies less fortunate than my own pony.

Please sponsor me.  Thank you.
