Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·

Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers: Can this be stopped? How will I live my life? We fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Story

Thanks for visiting my just giving page..

This year I have decided to run the London Marathon.  This will be a personal and physical challenge for me to achieve (not least because I hate running), however my choice to do this is in order to support the excellent work carried out by Fight for Sight.
The UK's leading charity in funding pioneering research to treat eye disease and prevent sight loss.

I am now the 3rd one of us, following in the footsteps of Gill Dalton and Hayley Tolfrey to complete this challenge and raise valuable funding to support this charity. One of our dear friends has been diagnosed with what is currently an incurable condition, Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy. This is a degenerative disease that effects your central vision and can eventually result in blindness. Despite this diagnosis our friend continues to build an incredible career as a DJ seeing her travel all over the world. The strength and determination that she displays is a true inspiration to myself and many others. Some people allow themselves to be defined by the challenges that they face, but she is not one of them..I will be proud of myself to complete the course, but even more proud of the opportunity to play a small part in supporting this cause and my friend.

Please donate what you can to support me on my way.

Love Lucy.
