Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our family have decided to take on a mammoth challenge of climbing the UKs highest mountain, Ben Nevis, to raise money for JDRF and the local Diabetes Youth Group. Our daughters suggested taking on the highest mountain in the UK as they felt passionate about doing something to try and help their brother and what better way to show their dedication to helping Seth.
JDRF fund Type 1 diabetes research to improve the lives of all Type 1 warriors and one day eradicate the condition for good. Our hope is that a cure will be found and Seth can live a carefree life without challenges of Type 1 diabetes and all the associated health complications that come with it. The Norwich & District Diabetes Youth Group were extremely supportive during the early days of diagnosis and continue to be a very helpful and caring group to help us with any problems we have as it can still be very overwhelming. We really appreciate their support.
As many people know, nearly two years ago our little boy Seth, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a month before his 4th birthday. This was a big shock and it has changed our lives forever. People with Type 1 diabetes are insulin dependent. Seth needs multiple finger pricks and multiple daily injections (sometimes up to 8 in a single day) to control his blood sugar levels to keep him well. This is required to stop him becoming very poorly and is keeping him alive. At the moment Seth will have to continually count his carbohydrate intake and check his blood glucose levels for the rest of his life. He is very brave and resilient like all T1 Warriors. Seth faces difficult challenges everyday but he takes it in his stride just like this challenge we are taking on to climb Ben Nevis.
We have been on many practice walks in preparation for our big climb and are really looking forward to the challenge.
Seth is hoping to raise £500 which is a very big number so anything that you can donate to help us will be so gratefully received. Thank you for taking the time to read our page.
As JustGiving can only donate to a single charity to obtain Gift Aid, we have set this page up for JDRF. If you would prefer to donate to the Norwich & District Diabetes Youth Group then please let us know before donating and we can arrange this and we will make sure all offline donations go to NDDYG.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
