Lydia Gonzalez Brain Tumor Research Charity

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I don’t even know where to begin. Today as I wake up with much thankfulness I like to announce 📣 that I will be FINALLY running 🏃🏽♀️ in the TCS London Marathon 2023’ under the Brain 🧠 Tumor Research 🔬 charity. Brain Tumour Research Fighting Force Heroes:
It has been three years since I promised myself, my Mom and to Patrick that this would be done in Memory of my Mother as some of her last wishes during the whole (72) days of battling this very badly disease that she very much so got was to help others find the cure in this specific area. She had a grade 3 Cancerous Brain Tumor to be exact but this is the closes I could come to supporting.
The Thalamus is the form of Tumor that she had it’s like a highway for so many nerve bundles.... that go up (sensory) and down (motor) for bodily controls ... It was a major risk doing a biopsy in the thalamus. The Thalamus is like a highway for so many nerve bundles.... that go up (sensory) and down (motor) for bodily controls ...
It was a major risk doing a biopsy in the thalamus. The biopsy may have been the main reason she passed away, surgery on the thalamus really is not an option, only a hand full of surgeons can successfully operate on the thalamus..... And I do believe this is where our surgeon went wrong and knew he did. I til this day have to live with the fact knowing that putting your love one’s in the care of other’s is never going to be the outcome your heart desires and it’s a risk you truly are taking.
I am still learning so much about it and won’t stop my own research. Let alone when it comes to the Brain. It effects me so very much because I knew that I would run this one specifically with gaining more awareness around the brain all together.
Many don’t know but Patrick R. Burnett also had his last days of passing due days of Brain Dead so when it comes to the Brain I am extremely heartbroken by even the word. But will push every mile and every day fighting harder more than ever to hit the pavement one more time doing my best to help someone else along the way.
I will be sharing the link of charity. I genuinely can’t thank you all enough for EVERYTHING you have shown on and off line. It has been one ☝🏽 unexplainable journey but I won’t stop until I reach my final destination as well.
With much love and light always,
Lydia Gonzalez 🕯🕯🕊🕊🤍🤍

A little about the charity is below;
It's estimated that 55,000 people in the UK are living with a brain tumour every day and 5,300 people lose their lives each year. Brain tumours continue to kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer and reduce life expectancy by, on average, 27 years - the highest of any cancer.Research into therapies is critically underfunded and receives just 1% of all national spend. At this rate, we will remain at least 100 years away from a cure.At our Brain tumour centre of excellence, Professor Oliver Hanemann, neurologist and Professor in clinical neurobiology, and his team, are leaders in the investigation of slow-growing tumours. These tumours are devastating and can bring debilitating effects. Currently, surgery and radiotherapy are the only treatment options for these low grade-tumours and, sadly, the tumours often return. Help us to raise funds so we can develop effective new therapies, improve survival rates and take a step closer to finding a cure.
