On 26 December 2012 I lost my close & dear friend, Michael C Brown, (MCB).

Michael was an extremely fit and healthy 55 year old who was active, played sports, walked miles and had a wonderful family and a rewarding life. I was totally shocked and devastated at his untimely passing as were his many friends and colleagues, but that is nothing compared to what his devoted and loving family have been through. My heart goes out to them, be they his immediate family in the US or those back in the UK.

Michael died of an undetected heart condition, if it can happen to him, believe me, it can happen to anyone, absolutely ANYONE, and it sadly does all too often. Michael has been constantly in my thoughts since that fateful day on December 26th and that is why I would like to do something positive in his memory and run the London 10k for MCB!

Michael made many many friends during his curtailed but spectacular time on this earth, and most recently his enthusiasm and personality proved popular on Facebook where he built up an impressive following of 'friends' who marvelled at his photography and stories from his days as a professional photographer. During his time at Autosport magazine, Racer magazine and as the official CART and IndyCar Yearbook photographer he touched many lives and made friends wherever he went, his mischievous smile and British humour were truly infectious and his legacy continues undiminished.

I'd like to appeal to all of you, his long time friends, fellow media professionals, acquaintances he made over the years, the motor racing community and his devoted Facebook 'friends' to find in your hearts the generosity to donate in Michael's memory. Oh, and if you didn't know him, you missed out on lots of laughs and knowing a great bloke who touched thousands of lives and was a genuinely lovely guy, you'd have loved him too!

With your help we've already raised in excess of £1200 for the BHF but I hope that we can add to that total as I run around the spectacular setting of Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire and the surrounding villages on October 6th, 2013.

Please give what you can to the British Heart Foundation, a relevant and worthwhile cause that can save other families the terrible grief that MCB's have been through.
