Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

MK17 Music In The Park is an annual live music festival held in the beautiful Buckinghamshire Village of Newton Longville just outside the historic town of Bletchley. Founded in 2009 by local music enthusiasts Paul Eveling and John Browning the event was conceived as a bit a of fun, to support local music and raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a cause very close to their hearts.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting inherited condition caused by a faulty gene that controls the movement of salt and water in and out of cells. This causes mucus to gather in the lungs and digestive system and creates a range of challenging symptoms.

More than 2.5 million people in the UK carry the faulty gene, around one in 25 of us – most without knowing.

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis but many treatments are available to manage it, including physiotherapy, exercise, medication and nutrition.

We believe that the day when people with CF can live a life unlimited by their condition is within our reach.
