December 9th 2009 was the day my niece was born with a serious heart condition called Truncus Arteriosis. For the first 6 months of her life she was in Yorkhill children’s hospital in Glasgow. She fought as we sat on the side lines hoping she had the strength to fight it and she did. 13 years old and 2 open heart surgeries later she’s as healthy as any other teen her age. The British Heart Foundation is closer to my heart than  most charities. This time I’m not sitting on the side lines. I’m fighting too.
