Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Four years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  At the time I was finding it hard to stand up, walking the dog was a struggle and social situations were becoming things to avoid not things to look forward to.  I was questioning what my future held - how long would it be before I was in a wheelchair, before Nick would have to take over looking after our children and worse, me.  We were facing a very uncertain future.

However, within three months of diagnosis I was put on the most effective disease modifying drug that, to date, has enabled me to live a completely normal life.

To celebrate this new lease of life, to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and treatment and to raise money for the StopMS Appeal, Nick and I have decided to take on a challenge.

We will be walking all 70.7 miles of the Wayfarer’s Walk to raise money for the StopMS Appeal and we are hoping to encourage as many of you to join us on some of it…or even all of it!  If you are interested in more details of the walk please email me on jessicafincham@icloud.com

Nick and I have been involved with the Stop MS Appeal since I was diagnosed with MS four years ago.  The Appeal was started with the aim to raise £100 million in 10 years to fund ground breaking research with the goal of stopping MS.  Four years in and the Appeal is on track having secured over £40 million for MS research.

I have been to enough Appeal events, enough hospitals and clinics to witness just how devastating this disease can be for sufferers and their families. So I know how lucky I am even to be contemplating walking Multiple Steps for Multiple Sclerosis along the Wayfarers Walk to raise money for the Stop MS Appeal.

Thank you for visiting our page!

Love

Jessie
