We are a small social group of 15 people from the heart of Central Scotland, affectionately called The Jolly Boys, who love football, live music, comedy, fun nights out, travelling across the UK and doing good things for people. We are currently aiming to get a song to the UK Christmas No.1 in the UK to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the M.S. Society..

And why not? 

We are led by our 'El Kapitano', Tony Green and are of varying ages from early 20s to 60s. Predominantly, we are all/have been employed by the same company at the same place of work in West Lothian, Scotland.

Every year we elect a charity to support through fundraising events such as: marathon runs, social events and specialist projects in collaboration with other groups and organisations.

Last year, we ran a musical project, raised approx. £2000 for our nominated charity Diabetes UK and decided to something similar again this year but on a much bigger scale and with the added aim of getting to the coveted top spot in the Official UK Charts.

So how did this all come about?

We approached the excellent rock band The King Lot, also from our home area in Scotland, to team up and record the song 'WINGS' to release and sell as a single in aid of our nominated charity.

After contacting Tyketto (the American band who wrote and own the song) and arranging the license to record a new version, the reworking of 'Wings' by The King Lot, complete with The Jolly Boys on backing vocals, is currently in the running towards the UK Xmas #1 2016.

'Wings' was originally released in 1991 and produced by the musical mastermind behind albums/artists such as: Elton John, Cher, Diana Ross, The Cult, Cheap Trick and the famous track, ‘Take My Breath Away’ from the soundtrack of the classic movie Top Gun.

The UK media are already on board with our ambitious attempt and have been supporting us in a big way. We have also released our excellent music video to support our release, shot in two locations across Scotland: Glencoe, Highlands and Glasgow, which has already reached a huge Worldwide audience. Not only that, our single topped the Amazon Best Sellers list within just 2 days of release and several bookies have tipped us 2nd favourite for the UK Christmas No.1 spot. 

Needless to say, it’s all systems GO!

‘WINGS' by The King Lot feat. The Jollyboys is available on pre-order from 14th November and will be officially be released for the Christmas chart on December 16th.

All individual UK sales of our single (available in digital download only) during this period count towards the final Christmas week chart position. All proceeds from UK and international sales will be donated directly to MS Society Scotland.  

We have all got a great feeling about this and the response to our single and our project has been overwhelmingly positive so far. 

Who knows, we might just get the top spot for Christmas 2016.
