Manchester Memory Walk, Heaton Park · 17 September 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am participating in this event in memory of my boyfriend's nana, Kathleen Sweeney. She touched the hearts of many family members and friends. She was able to light up a room with her smile when you entered the room.

Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there.
