Story
As some of you who know me well will know that I lost my lovely blue eyed grandad to dementia and more recently my nan. Helping to care for my grandad all those years ago inspired me to give up what I was doing and become a carer for people suffering with dementia. This I did for four years, and I am now a "dementia champion" within my new role at the QA hospital.
Unfortunately, I believe that all of us will be affected by this cruel disease at some point in our lives, either by caring for a family member, or by knowing someone that is suffering with it. Please support and help me raise just a few pounds that will assist someone in receiving the basic support that every person suffering with dementia and their carers deserve. Now im not the most fittest of ladies, but I am planning on the 10k walk so give generously to encourage me.... thank you....😊
Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it’s the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
