Leeds Memory Walk · 23 September 2017 ·
Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September I will be taking part in the Leeds Memory Walk with my husband, Ernie and daughter, Dawn. We will be remembering Betty, my lovely mum who passed away as a result of Alzheimer's three years ago. My family and friends have already helped me raise £245 for Alzheimer's Society via the Betty Kershaw Celebration Fund. Last year I published a book about my family and how we struggled trying to come to terms with the impacts of this devastating illness. I have been donating some of the proceeds to the fund. We are walking to remember and celebrate her life and that of my dad, Hugh who died of cancer and brother Martin, killed in a motorbike accident. Please help me to raise as much as possible for Alzheimer's Society to help the fight back against this cruel disease. Thank you.
