Story
As some of you may know, I'm off to India to trek the Himalayas in May 2013 to raise money for the Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead.
The Hampstead hospice specialises in giving excellent, high standard palliative care for patients who are terminally ill, not only do they provide support and comfort for patients but also for their families and loved ones.
I'm taking on this challenge with my (slightly unhinged) best friend Kelechi Okere, a fellow nurse meaning there will be no shying away from what I'm sure will be the topic of most conversations on the trek...poo..."where did you? Have you? I did tell you not to eat that..."
So, as you can see, I've got my priorities straight! (I've been told Santa's bringing me a small shovel for christmas :D) Lara Croft boots and Snowdon to come...
All joking aside, Kele and I aren't hauling our unfit bodies and big feet up a mountain for no good reason...
We shall be travelling with a group of people all raising money for the Hampstead Hospice, taking on not only the obvious physical challenges of the trek but the emotional challenges that have brought us altogether to support this more than worthy cause.
Loss of a loved one is something that has and will, touch us all, this is a valuable charity and is of personal significance, so please help us raise the money for the incredible work they do!
Thank you,
Mads
