At the Alzheimer’s Society they're working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.

I have chosen this charity to raise money for as it is a cause very close to my heart. As many of you know, Melvyn Clarkson has been suffering with Alzheimer's for several years now. I've known Melvyn my whole life and he's been like a grandad to me and so to see him and Mavis go through something like this is very upsetting. I want to do anything I can to make sure that no one else's family or friends have to suffer living with this horrible disease. Therefore, I have decided to take part in the Great North Run in the hopes that my small contribution can be part of making a big difference. 

In the past I have run short distances however I have never run this far before and so it is a challenge for me. Anything that you can donate will be greatly appreciated and you will be contributing to an amazing cause that helps so many families every day.
