Sockathon for Beat · 3 February 2013

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

Eating Disorders Awareness Week has the theme "Sock It To Eating Disorders": B-eat page.

Eating Disorders are a problem close to my heart, and much more happily knitting is something dear to me!  So between 11-17 February I will be downing tools on all projects to knit/embroider/embellish as many socks and sock-related items as I can.  My mother is also joining in with the project and I am sure she will manufacture more than I will...

All we ask is that you consider sponsoring us, either a flat amount or by pledging an amount per sock, which would help push us to make as many as possible!  The socks we end up with will either be sold to raise additional funds for B-eat or will be donated to other local causes (or to people in need of socks, like my one-year-old-nephew).

If you enjoy knitting and would like to join in by manufacturing as few or as many socks as you like to push the total up, that would be grand.  Just let me know and I will add you to the list of mad people below.
