Story

Hello All!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my delightful JustGiving page and sponsoring my 10k run for Macmillan.

Now, some of you have been approached by people running the marathon, swimming the channel etc so why should you sponser me to run a measley 10k???

I am possibly the laziest, most unhealthy person you may know. I'm still out of breath from simply running upstairs to get this laptop...I can still see white spots...So this is all I can do people! Just in case you think I'm just going to try and walk this 10k..oh no, I'm running it with my friend who has just completed the half marathon in 1hr 45mins...and I've got a bad ankle..so, basically, I'm doomed. So you may aswell give a bit of money to charity to cushion the blow for me..  and it may even give you a laugh at the thought of me attemtping to do this. Everyone's a winner!!

Macmillan is an incredible charity who help and support people with not only cancer but other people with terminal illnesses who need support and care in homes and hospices. Recently me and my family found out how much of a great job the Macmillan nurses do, by visiting my uncle at home and caring for him before he went into a hospice when he was in the final stages of cancer and by visiting my aunt when she was diagnosed with motor neurones disease and explaining the process to her and her family and visiting regularly untill my aunt also passed away in a hospice. The care, support and understanding provided by Macmillan and all hospices reassures families and patients that they are in great hands and adds such a comfort during the most difficult of times for families and friends.
