Story
Many of you will be dealing with the impact of dementia within your families and lives. This is such a heart-breaking disease where memories disappear.
My beautiful mum, Maisie, has Alzheimer’s and is now living in a Care Home in Bolton. This was a very difficult decision for us as a family to make. When I see my mum now she doesn’t really know me anymore – but she still makes me laugh and smile. She is still my mum!
I will be retiring from my job as a Headteacher in July this year and have supported many charity events at schools over the years. It seemed the perfect opportunity, before I leave my wonderful school, Seymour Park Community Primary School, to try and raise money for a charity that is truly making a difference to millions – the Alzheimer’s Society.
So, with the help of my friends and supportive team at school, we will be holding a special “Memory Walk” on Wed 22 May 2019.
Please can you give, any amount, towards the Alzheimer’s Society charity? I would never be able to raise much money on my own so – here’s to you!
Thank you from me, my brother and sister… and our gorgeous mum, Maisie.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
