About #MakeForUkraine
#MakeForUkraine is an idea that came out of a conversation between one of the founders of the global #CookForUkraine movement and makers in his co-working ceramics studio. Together they decided it would be great if makers joined with cooks and bakers to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Our Mission
#MakeForUkraine aims to increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis the world faces right now, as well as raise the funds needed to aid children & families in Ukraine who have been displaced by the current situation.
We encourage makers to explore Ukrainian culture and handcraft traditions in their making process as a way to show solidarity, and/or to create work with the colours of the Ukrainian flag (blue and yellow). Makers can raise money by donating proceeds from their work: whether by selling directly through social media or in online shops, or putting on in-person or virtual markets, or even joining forces and adding a makers’ fundraising table to existing #BakeForUkraine or #CookForUkraine events.
This action is for makers in all arts and crafts disciplines: fine artists, ceramicists, sculptors, wood workers, metal workers, weavers, embroiderers, knitters, sewers, graphic designers, illustrators, printmakers, glass blowers, stained glass makers, painters, miniaturists, writers and poets.

About the Organisers
From Clerkenwell Boy - one of the founders of both #CookForSyria, which raised over £1 million for Unicef through supper clubs, bake sales and recipe books and #CookForUkraine, which has already raised over quarter of a million in two weeks - and makers at Turning Earth and SkandiHus ceramics studios.
What's Happening in Ukraine?
Conflict is escalating in Ukraine, putting millions of children and their families in immediate danger.
More than half a million children in Ukraine are already affected as the conflict in the east of the country enters its eighth year. Homes, schools, water supplies and hospitals are damaged. Landmines pose a major threat to children’s lives.
As the conflict intensifies, as many as 7.5 million children could be left without access to essential services.
About UNICEF
UNICEF is especially concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children who have become separated from their families.
UNICEF has been working around the clock to keep children safe since this conflict began eight years ago. UNICEF’s efforts help to make sure that children’s health and protection services are sustained and families have clean water and nutritious food.
