Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Malcolm Mathews, Dad, Brother, Son, Partner & Friend to us all, died peacefully on Tuesday 17th August 2016.

Malcolm was diagnosed with Cancer three years ago. The trial treatment he received from The Royal Marsden enable him to lead a fulfilling life during his battle with cancer. He was proud that he was able to assist with cancer research during his illness and he wished for funds to be donated to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Dad led a very active and adventurous life - never missing a day at the gym and loving nothing more than kayaking with his family and friends. He was the fittest & healthiest man we new. He completed multiple Tough Guy challenges - jumping through fire and swimming in icy water, kayaked every New Years day in the freezing cold (apparently the perfect hangover cure) and the odd casual 30 mile cycle ride on a Sunday morning...

His active lifestyle and fitness allowed him to receive trial treatment at The Royal Marsden. It was this treatment, along with the care he received, that allowed him to continue doing the things he loved including kayaking, cycling & swimming over the past three years.

As a family we would like to spread the message of the importance of health, fitness and continued cancer research, without which Dad would not have be able to live a fulfilling and happy life with his family and friends, doing everything he wanted to do.

On behalf of our Dad, we would like to thank all his friends and family for being a part of his adventure.

Forever in our hearts.
