Story

www.malcsblog.net

I've completed this challenge 4 times. It's an extremely difficult endurance running event and I'm so proud of what I have previously achieved. Sadly I failed to complete the challenge for a fifth time in 2017 due to an injury to my left knee. I was so disappointed not to complete it all but thankfully this was softened by the fact I still managed to raise plenty of money for the Brathay Trust.

The injury has healed but I have also been diagnosed with arthritis in the same knee with the recommendation to take things a bit easier. It looks like in the long term this is what I'll have to do but I can't leave the Brathay 10in10 challenge on a fail. I must thank the Brathay Trust for giving me another opportunity to take on this challenge again in 2018. I know exactly what it involves, I will prepare the best I can and have to hope my knee can take the punishment. Having failed to complete the challenge in 2017 I'm very apprehensive about attempting it again, the thought of failing twice is unthinkable.

I'm looking forward to raising Brathay as much money as I can to help them continue their work supporting vulnerable young people to make the best of their individual situations and settle into society. Each year Brathay helps over 5000 children and young people in their own communities and also by taking them on courses at Brathay Hall in the Lake District. I hope you can find the generosity to support my challenge and send Brathay a donation.
