Malvern Hill Piano Push · 3 June 2017

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

A colleague and friend of ours Nicky, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We decided that we would like to do something as a gesture of support so decided that......we would, by people power alone, transport a piano from central Malvern to the top of the Worcestershire Beacon; an ascent of roughly 350m, in the name of Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, who are providing care for Nicky while she undergoes chemotherapy.

We are an eclectic mix of people mostly, but not exclusively, from Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils. We have two pianists in our midst and there will be several short performances along the way for public pleasure and to provide an opportunity to rattle a collection bucket. Malvern Male Voice choir will also be making a special guest appearance somewhere along the route. We will also all be attired as Victorian adventurers/mountain climbers.

This most splendid escapade will set off from central Malvern at 11 am on Saturday the 3rd June and will open with a performance near the main cross roads on Church Street. On from here to Belle Vue Terrace for a second performance before tackling the hills proper. We will make more stops (and performances) to perform at Earnslaw Quarry car park, The Wyche Inn and finally the Worcestershire Beacon.

It would be great to see you there at any of the stops. An estimated schedule to follow!
