Jasmine is 7 years old and has severe life threatening allergies, she is allergic to Dairy, Eggs, Soya, Mushrooms, Pineapples, Cranberries, Kiwi, Peanuts and all Tree nuts as well as environmental allergies, Grass, Pollen, Dust and cats, dogs and horses.  

We are fund raising to help raise awareness and educate people to understand that anaphylaxis is life threatening and that it is imperative that we all work together to keep sufferers safe. Educating ourselves and others is such an important way to help achieve this goal. We must make sure that all allergies are taken seriously and need to somehow try to introduce fundamental training in areas such as: schools, workplaces, cafes, restaurants, airplane, etc especially if in an emergency people should know how to use the auto adrenaline injectors such as JEXT and Epi pens and to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis.  We also need to be mindful of the psychological impact that these allergies have on people; Jasmine suffers with severe anxiety and can often feel isolated by her peers which effects her self esteem and her general childhood.

The Anaphylaxis Campaign have set a 140,000 step challenge over 14 days to raise awareness for the top 14 allergens. Wish us luck :)

The Anaphylaxis Campaign is the only UK wide charity solely focused on supporting people at risk of severe allergic reactions. Anaphylaxis (pronounced ana-fill-ax-is) is a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction that can be fatal. Severe symptoms such as a swollen tongue, difficulty breathing or becoming unconscious usually develop suddenly, often within minutes after being exposed to an allergy trigger such as a particular food, latex, insect stings or certain drugs.
