My son aaron was diagnosed with a Cleft Pallet at the age of 6 (something that should have been detected at birth) by a very simple procedure that all babies should have before leaving hospital. Due to this not being detected, Aaron did not have the operation that he should have. This caused alot of stress to Aaron throughout the 6 years as he was unable to breastfeed, suffered problems with bottle feeding, sleeping/ breathing problems and behavioural difficulties through his frustrations.

I am happy to say Aaron had his operation in February 2013 at the sick Kids Hospital, Edinburgh to repair his Pallet and what a success it has been. I am SO VERY PROUD of Aaron and what he has overcome. Aaron and I are also so very thankful to the Charity CLAPA (who this is in aid of) and how they have supprted us through this process, therefore we would like to give something back.
