Mandy's Oh my goodness, I'm going to shave my head

Oh my God, I'm going to shave my head · 29 March 2017
I've thought for a while about how I will eventually go about growing out my undercut and, now I'm in a job where I hide it every day, and for that feel a little less like me, I've decided now is the time to put a plan into action.
I thought at first about getting a cute pixie cut, but that takes effort and a lot of trust in a hairdresser, so I thought "bugger it, let's just lop the whole lot off" so it's going to happen on the weekend following hitting my goal.
I decided to go ahead and dothis in support of Crohn's and Colitis UK because over the last couple of years I've come in increasing contact with people with varying degrees of this illness, the closest to me being my partner, Pete and a common theme I've heard from Pete and the others, and from research I've done since discovering his condition, is the effect the medication has on peoples' hair. This can mean it gets thinner, or flatter or even begin to lose it completely as the follicles die away, which for anyone can cause self confidence issues, on top of what they're already dealing with, with their disease.
So, with all that said, I want to help a little bit, by raising a bit of cash to help out one of the charities helping to support and fund research for better quality of life and ultimately a cure for sufferes; Crohn's and Colitis UK. The amount I have as my goal would be enough to fund a whole day's research which can help make lives easier and potentially lead to a cure.
Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a national charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We are fighting to achieve a better quality of life for the 300,000 people in the UK suffering physically and emotionally from these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Ultimately, we want to find a cure.
