I was delighted that my friend Mandy Speirs was eager to take part in this event to raise money for Circle, the charity that I work for. I wasn't quite so delighted when she said she wanted me to take part in it with her! Those who know me well know that heights and I just don't mix...

However, Circle is an extremely worthy cause; the support that our Family Outreach Workers give to families on a day-to-day basis can be life-changing. Many children grow up having to cope with parental substance use, parental imprisonment, domestic abuse, trauma and loss. With the right supports and interventions, parents, carers, children and young people can turn their situations around, build on their own strengths and create positive futures for the whole family.
