Jane Tomlinson was my biggest inspiration to run long distances in 2003. After I completed the Edinburgh marathon in 2004 I pledged to run a marathon every three years until I was 50 in 2016.

I completed marathons in Tromso, Norway (2007); Ohio, U.S.A (2010) and Barcelona, Catalonia/Spain (2013). I also added a 35 miles ultra-marathon in Yorkshire, England in 2015.

This year, I hope to complete my ambition by running the Riga, Latvia marathon on May 15. I then hope to run in the Jane Tomlinson 10km run for all in Leeds on July 10, for the first time since the inaugural one in 2007.
