We Support men with depression to help create awareness & dismiss stigmas

Story

My name is Marcus, I am 24 years old. This is really hard for me to say and to try to explain. So I will try to keep it short and sweet.

Not many of you will know but not long ago I have been diagnosed with Depression and with mental Health issues. This has had a massive impact on my life as you can probably imagine.

I have been to my GP about my Depression and as soon as I walked in  they could tell that I was struggling. The GP have now put me on Antidepressant's to see if they help and I am going to start some counselling to see if they can help me and get to the bottom of it. The worst part is I hear voices they shout and they try to control me. However before I went to the GP I felt so down I cant explain how bad it was. I felt alone (even though I wasn't I have family friends and loved ones ). That's what Depression does it makes you feel unwanted and makes you feel that no one care about you. There's been times I have been in a very dark place but I couldn't do it any more.I had do to something about it I cant live like this.

My Fiancé Always did try to get me to go and just get checked but me being me I shrugged and said ill be fine. I wish I listened to her earlier.

The voices in my head were getting louder each and every single day. At first I could control it but the longer I've left it and tried to ignore it its gotten worse and worse they wont leave me alone. I found that when I listen to my music on my headphones full blast it drowns them out for a bit but that's a short relief.

I Started Emailing Samaritans. They are really supportive and they will listen to you and try to support you as much as possible. The good thing about the Samaritans is that its all private they understand that you don't want people knowing about your problems. They really helped me.

The reason I am doing this fundraiser is because I want to help other people who is struggling with Depression and mental health. I want people be able to try to speak out and to get back on track with their lives. No one  should be alone on a time like this and I want to help as many people as possible.

Please can I ask all of you to share my story and please donate anything you can. It would be so amazing if we can all pull together and help everyone who are going through this.

Kind Regards

Marcus
