Gran Paradiso mountain climb · 21 June 2022

Our vision is of a society where street homelessness no longer exists, and everyone has a place to call home. The Passage is based in Westminster, providing practical support and a wide range of services to help transform the lives of people who are, or are at risk of, street homelessness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In less than 4 weeks I will be facing the biggest challenge and what I hope to be also one of the best experiences so far in my life.

Towards the end of June, I and bunch of my Perrigo UK colleagues will climb one of the tallest mountains in Italian Alps - Gran Paradiso (4061m) in order to raise money for a cause we tend to overlook in our "busy" London lives - Homeless people.

In 2019/20 there were over 10.72 thousand people reported to be sleeping rough in London, over 2 thousand more than in the previous year. 31 percent of people seen to be sleeping rough in London were aged between 36 and 45 years old, the most common age group in that year. In this same year, just ten percent of people seen to be homeless were under the aged between 18 and 24, and a further 10 percent were aged over 55.

“When you take things for granted, the things you are granted get taken.”

We all take certain things for granted, some more than
others. We’re so used to routines, comfort and luxuries that it’s practically impossible to not take anything for granted. However, everybody knows that you should try to appreciate the good things in life, no matter how big or how small. It’s time to tap into the moment. Make it count. Because right now is all you are promised, and you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. You only know what you can give right now.

Let's slow down and say "Thank YOU". Let’s change the narrative with more gratitude.

By donating to PASSAGE, you will help not only with providing a shelter, food or medical attention to homeless people, but what is more important, that organizations like Passage gives people also a guidance on how to put them back on their feet.

Fundraising efforts will directly support the frontline work that Passage does to make this possible. 70% of their running costs rely solely on voluntary donations so your support really can make all the difference.
